About Destiny

WHO IS SHE?

Raquel Rodriguez or Destiny as her friends call her has always dreamt of being a writer of Tagalog romance novels and an entrepreneur. For many years, she took a different path setting aside writing, though she tried to write once in a while, and most of the time when she was desolated by life's uncertainties. She also lay low from writing when a friend remarked that she felt like hugging Destiny because she thought that she was dejected. Destiny felt at some point that her pieces brought a heaviness to her readers and she, herself reflected sadness and just recently enlightened that those words written, from the depths of her emotions were just a part of her, not her whole being. And that remark made her realize that somehow her writing is effective in depicting heartfelt passions.

She’s kind of timid but always wants to explore. She believes that she was made up of sugar, spice, and a dash of weirdness. A true-blooded Virgo, a dream chaser, a volunteer, a procrastinator at times, definitely an up-and-coming millionaire, and a little bit of this and that.

ON HER ENTREPRENEURIAL DREAM

She started her entrepreneurial journey when she was in grade school selling the so-called "arts" she used to draw when she thought she wanted to be a painter (haha!). Came 2018, Destiny took a leap and began her journey of being an entrepreneur and started handling a Filipino skincare brand as a City Distributor. In 2020, she decided to start her own brand, Destiny's Secrets whose first product is Himalayan Swirl Soap, and hoping to add other varieties of soaps and skincare products. Every journey is a learning curve and the best is yet to come!

DESTINY VERSION 3.0

Raquel is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing. A Registered Nurse and Real Estate Broker, passed the licensure examinations in 2011 and 2016, respectively. Currently, she is interested in digital marketing. She began courses for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Facebook Advertising in which she is vying for a career in online freelancing.

She also took language classes, Mandarin in particular, and continuously learned through language apps. She is also planning to learn the Korean Language. Jiฤ yรณu!

Looking back, she realized that she has always dreamed of where is now, not quite but getting there. She retreats and saw the big picture when her life hung back just a year ago. Now she is back, still, with the traces of past heartaches but with a much-healed version because she believed that in love we learn to surrender thus we grow.

She will still write her heart out and share the moments of her deep thoughts and the aches of her silence. Apparently, there is no Destiny if it weren't for those.
